Used Engine Installation Checklist for GAS ENGINES

Upon delivery of your used egine please Inspect the engine thoroughly before accepting the delivery receipt from the freight company! If  you do notice any damages to the engine, you will need to make a note on the delivery receipt but do sign for it and makes sure proper notes are made.

Inspect all gaskets, filters and seals, replace as needed, we suggest to go on and replace all of these items for the longevity of your used engine and to prevent any disputes should your used engine fail because of such items.

Turn the engines crankshaft several times at least 3 complete rotations to ensure proper rotation and ensure that the engine is not seized before installing the engine. Failure to take this step could result in an immediate void to the warranty.

Before installing your used engine, replace the thermostat. If your used engine overheats because of thermostat issues from a previous installation it will void your warranty.

Before installing your used engine, replace the rear main seal. If your used engine leaks oil because of rear main seal issues from a previous installation, it will void your warranty.

Before installing your used engine, replace all hoses and belts. If your used engine were to seize because of damaged belts or hose issues from a previous installation, it will void your warranty.

Before installing your used engine, install and properly gap all spark plugs. If your used engine were to foul out because of old spark plug issues from a previous installation, it will void your warranty.

Before installing your used engine, change the oil and oil filter per manufacturer recommendations. If your used engine were to seize because of bad/old oil or oil filter  issues from a previous installation, it will void your warranty.

Before installing your used engine, replace all filters such as (Oil, Fuel, Water, etc.). If your used engine were to become inoperable because of damaged filters (Oil, Fuel, Water, etc.) issues from a previous installation, it will void your warranty.

Before installing your used engine, replace all fluids such as (Oil, Anti-Freeze, Engine Coolant, etc.). If your used engine were to become inoperable because of old or dirty fluids (Oil, Anti-Freeze, Engine Coolant, etc.) issues from a previous installation, it will void your warranty.

Should your used engine have 30,000 miles or more, you will need to replace the water pump as water pumps are not covered by the warranty. A water pump kit should be installed on all used engines with 30,000 miles or greater. Please keep your receipt as it will be needed in the event of a water pump failure.

Should your engine have a timing belt with 30,000 miles or more, you will need to replace this as timing belts are not covered by the warranty. A timing belt kit including the timing chain, should be installed on all used engines with 30,000 miles or greater. Please keep your receipt as it will be needed in the event of a timing belt failure.

All (SOHC) KIA engines and Ford Focus engines require a new timing belt kit and water pump in order to adhere to warranty guidelines. Please keep your receipt as it will be needed in the event of a timing belt or water pump failure.

All GM 3.1L must have the intake manifold gasket replaced in order to adhere to warranty guidelines. Please keep your receipt as it will be needed in the event of a intake manifold gasket failure.

Install your used engine within 30 days of receipt of delivery! All used engines purchased from us must be installed within 30 days of delivery or it will void your warranty.

All returns and cancellations need to be filed or reported within 48 hours of delivery all litigations are held in Shelby County Tennessee.

In order to get the most performance and longevity out of your engine be sure to: replace all gaskets and seals, filters and fluids, check the radiator (backflush).


Failure to comply to any of the above steps could result in an immediate void to your used engine warranty. Please ensure you or your mechanic completes each of these steps as they are crucial to the longevity of your used engine. Be sure to keep all receipts and document all maintenance made to the engine as paperwork will be required in the event something should happen to your used engine.

Any changes or modifications to the engines fuel, exhaust or electronic system will void the warranty as well. Should you decide to make alterations for performance or off-road use, we highly suggest that you wait until after the warranty period, as these alterations will automatically void the warranty.

Any bolt-on component to the engine is not covered by the warranty. Turbochargers, Superchargers, Electronic Modules, Wiring harnesses are not considered a part of the engine block itself and shall be considered bolt on components.
